About the Subjective Geek

I started this blog to have somewhere to publish a clear and well-referenced opinion on why the Australian Internet Filter is a bad idea; but that's not what this blog is for. This blog is a place for me to share my experiences, both professional and personal, as a geek.

My name is Lionell Pack, and I'm a geek. I'm all sorts of geek. I'm a music geek. I'm a martial arts geek. I'm a language geek. Most of all, I'm a software geek, and that's the part of me you'll see most of on this blog but it turns out I'm going to end up writing about my political views. Huh.

I'm a qualified Software Engineer living and working in Brisbane, Australia. I've done a whole range of work, from debugging trawler instruments to developing MasterCard server software, but right now I'm writing environmental management software. It helps companies working in industries like mining and power generation to measure and minimise the impact their operations have on the environment.
